TATTOO PRE & POST CARE INFORMATION

Pre-Procedure:

The area to be tattooed will need to be shaved.

The area will be cleaned with an antibacterial soap.

A stencil of the design will be applied to the area at this time, unless the design is

drawn by hand.

While the stencil is drying the artist will be setting up necessary inks, sterilized

needles, sterilized tubes and other equipment.

The tattoo is inserted into the skin one color at a time using needles or cartridges.

Some irritation, pain, bruising and/or bleeding may occur during your tattoo.

You may also feel faint or dizzy. If so, notify your artist immediately!

Larger pieces may have to be completed in more than one sitting.

Upon completion your tattoo is cleaned with an antibacterial soap, and a plastic wrap

or Saniderm will be applied to the fresh tattoo.

IT IS UP TO YOU TO TAKE PROPER CARE OF THE TATTOO DURING THE HEALING PROCESS.

READ AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS.

Some soreness, bruising and scabbing are common during the healing period, but if

proper care is taken, complications are rare.

Tattoos are permanent!!!

Post-Tattoo/Aftercare Instructions (Follow instructions for 2-3 weeks):

Leave the plastic wrap or Saniderm applied to fresh tattoo in place for the first 24

hours.

Remove plastic wrap or Saniderm from tattoo after 24 hours and wash tattoo gently

with cool water and a mild soap. Pat dry with a clean paper towel/wash cloth. Repeat

3 times a day for the following 2-3 weeks.

After each wash sparingly apply a color and scent free lotion, such as Lubriderm or

Vaseline to the tattooed area for the following 2-3 weeks.

Some lotions and topical healing products may cause rashes, in the event of, stop

using immediately. Wash your tattoo with mild soap and water and dry thoroughly.

Replace it with a hypoallergenic lotion.

Scabbing/peeling is normal. Don’t pick or scratch, let it fall off on its own. Recommend

softly patting tattooed area with clean hands if itchiness occurs.

Keep your tattoo out of direct sunlight while healing.

Swimming/soaking during the healing process could result in color loss.

Keep your new tattoo covered with loose fitting clothing.

Consult a physician at the first sign of infection.
